Information a Visitor Submits
Terms Entered in a Search
A name, location, or other term entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider handles a query under its own privacy terms.
Messages Sent to This Site
An email or contact-form message may include the sender's name, address, and any details placed in the message. We retain that material as needed to respond. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law. Do not send a Social Security number, driver's-license number, banking data, medical details, or other sensitive information through a plain-text message.
Technical Details Collected During a Visit
Web servers and measurement tools may receive routine technical details when a page loads. These details help the site function and show broad usage patterns. They may include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address
- The browser name and version
- The device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- The date and time of each request
Cookies and Browser Controls
Cookies are small files used to understand how visitors move through the site. A browser can block or delete them through its settings. Some site features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Reasons the Information Is Used
Collected information supports the site's basic operation and helps us understand whether its Saline County material works as intended. Uses include:
- Keeping pages available and responsive
- Sending a search request to the proper partner service
- Learning which pages visitors find useful
- Finding errors and fixing technical problems
- Displaying ads that may reflect a visitor's interests
Privacy Rules on Linked Services
Links may lead to the Saline County Sheriff's release records, the Saline County Detention Center, Missouri Department of Corrections resources, parole or probation information, federal or immigration custody tools, court portals, and outside search services. Each destination controls its own data practices. Its privacy notice applies after a visitor follows the link.
Official Missouri records may also be subject to the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, including lawful limits on access. This site's policy cannot change an agency's duties or the status of a public record.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking takes place through the partner's technology, not a record system maintained by this site.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be handled by a small number of services or authorities when needed:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Our Best-Effort Security Measures
We use standard safeguards meant to reduce unauthorized access, loss, and misuse. No website, network, email system, or storage method can be made fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that information will never be exposed or breached.
Use Is Restricted to Adults
This site is intended for people age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. A parent or guardian who believes a person under 18 submitted data may contact us and request its deletion.
Requests About Personal Data
Depending on the law that applies, a visitor may ask us to take one or more of the following actions:
- Provide a copy of personal data we hold
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Erase information when deletion is required or permitted
- Stop certain forms of processing
Send a request through Get in Touch. State what action is requested and provide enough information to locate the relevant message or record. We may need to confirm identity before acting. These choices cover data held by this site, not records maintained by the Sheriff, MODOC, a court, a search partner, or another linked service.
Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may revise this notice as practices, services, or legal duties change. A revised version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Questions about the notice may be sent through Get in Touch.
Effective date: July 27, 2026.
