Saline County Release Meanings
A release from the Saline County Detention Center means that one county booking has ended. It does not always mean the person walked free. A bond, court order, dismissal, or completed county term may result in a community return. A commitment to the Missouri Department of Corrections, transfer to another jail, federal handoff, treatment placement, or immigration transfer moves custody elsewhere. The Sheriff records departure from the county jail. The court records the legal order. A receiving agency records any custody that follows.
That split matters when reading Saline County release records. A current-roster entry shows county custody at the time of the display. The official 48-hour release entry supplies a recorded departure time, but a destination may require the individual profile, court docket, maintained Sheriff record, or receiving-agency search. The single confirmed local custodial facility is the Saline County Detention Center, also called the Saline County Jail on Sheriff pages. No adult state prison, federal prison, or ICE detention facility was identified within the county.
- Time served
- The custodial part of a county sentence has been completed, subject to any other hold.
- Parole
- Release from prison to serve part of a sentence under state supervision.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision, often in place of an executed prison term.
- Discharge
- The controlling sentence or supervision obligation has ended, rather than merely changing custody.
- Detainer
- A request or legal basis for another agency to take or keep custody.
Saline County Release Types
Do not reduce every entry to “released.” The event type controls both meaning and the next place to look. A bond release keeps the criminal case open. Recognizance or another court order can also permit departure while proceedings continue. Dismissal removes the basis for custody in that case, but another case or hold may still control. Parole and conditional release end prison confinement while a supervision term remains. Escape, death, and an agency handoff are status events, not ordinary community releases.
| Release event | What it means | Next verification source |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or recognizance | County custody ends while the case continues | Sheriff timestamp and Case.net bond docket |
| Time served | The ordered county-jail term is complete | Jail release record and judgment |
| Dismissal or court order | Authority in that case changed or ended | Case.net and physical-release record |
| MODOC commitment | County booking ends but state custody begins | MODOC offender record |
| Parole or conditional release | Prison ends while supervision continues | MODOC status and assigned office |
| Transfer or detainer handoff | Another custodian receives the person | Receiving county, federal, or immigration system |
Saline County Release Record Fields
The official county feed ties a release date and time to a booking number. It also displays the name, booking time, booking photo, charges, bond information, and a profile link. A profile may add age, gender, race, address, arresting agency, and charge detail. Empty or missing values should not be filled by assumption. For a sound record of the lookup, note the exact name, booking number, displayed event, retrieval time, and originating source.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and booking number | Links the event to one county booking and helps separate similar names |
| Booking date and time | Marks the beginning of the displayed jail stay |
| Release date and time | Marks departure recorded by the detention center |
| Charges and bond | Shows displayed booking allegations and bond data, not the final court result |
| Arresting agency | Identifies the originating agency when the profile supplies it |
| Release authority or destination | May require the maintained record, court docket, or receiving agency |
The web display lasts for a rolling 48-hour presentation window. That is not the Sheriff's record-retention period. Underlying records may remain after an entry rolls off, while closure, expungement, juvenile confidentiality, a court order, or another statutory limit may restrict access. The roster also carries a non-certification disclaimer. Use it for discovery, then request the maintained record when exact proof matters.
Request Saline County Release Records
Older records, certified copies, exact date ranges, release authority, transfer notation, and booking photographs call for a written Sunshine request. Address it to the Saline County Sheriff's Office at 1915 W. Arrow St., P.O. Box 366, Marshall, MO 65340. The Sheriff contact page lists 660-886-5512 as the 24-hour non-emergency line. Describe the record precisely. Do not send sensitive personal data through the plain-text online contact route, which is not secure.
- Give the full name, booking number if known, and an approximate booking or release date range.
- Ask for booking and release timestamps, release type or authority, open transfer or destination fields, charge and bond fields, and the booking photograph if needed.
- Request an electronic copy and an itemized estimate before costs exceed a limit you choose.
- If material is withheld, ask for the legal basis and all reasonably separable open portions.
- Use the Circuit Clerk for public court documents and MODOC for state sentence or discharge fields.
Missouri Chapter 610 generally requires a response as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day after receipt. That response may provide the records or explain the delay and earliest availability. Section 610.026 permits specified copy and staff costs. No Saline County flat release-record fee or special release form was found, so ask for an estimate. The Sheriff's civil-service fee is unrelated to public-record copies.
Saline County Release Record Law
Missouri's Sunshine Law favors open public records while allowing specific material to be closed. Section 610.021 lists potential closure grounds. Sections 610.023 and 610.024 address custodians, access, and separating open information from exempt information. Arrest records have added rules under section 610.100. Juvenile files, sealed or expunged records, victim information, an active investigation, security material, and some court-ordered restrictions do not receive ordinary public treatment.
Expungement is a court process that changes access to covered records. It is not the same as a pardon. Section 610.140 has offense-based rules, exclusions, notice steps, and waiting periods that must be checked against the current text and the actual case. A missing public result might reflect a name variation, restricted access, migration, expungement, or no matching record. It cannot support a broader conclusion by itself.
When Saline County Bond Releases Occur
The Sheriff's jail page says bonds are accepted at the jail around the clock, seven days a week. That local practice helps explain why the release feed may change after the administrative front office closes. Cash bonds require the exact amount and valid identification from the person posting the bond. The jail says it does not accept credit cards, debit cards, or checks for cash bonds. Approved bondsmen are listed at the front window.
None of those rules promises a fixed processing time. A bond must be accepted and the jail must complete its release work. A recorded bond release also leaves the court case pending. Match the release timestamp to the booking number, then use Case.net for the bond event and later court action. A person who vanishes from the current roster before appearing on the released feed should not be treated as confirmed free.
Find Saline County Released Inmates
Start with the custodian and identifier. A Saline County booking number leads to the Sheriff. A DOC number leads to Missouri corrections. A federal register number leads to BOP. An ICE A-number belongs to immigration custody. A court case number explains judicial action but does not always prove when physical release finished.
- Open the Sheriff's 48-hour released feed, match the full name, booking number, booking date, and release time, then read the profile.
- For an older event, review the Saline County case in Case.net and request the maintained booking and release record.
- If the docket shows a state commitment, use MODOC's active search and historical Sunshine data with the DOC number.
- Use MOVANS for one-person custody events and notifications, then confirm any alert with the reporting custodian.
- For a federal or documented immigration handoff, use the distinct BOP or ICE locator.
The Saline County 24-Hour Releases page explains how to filter the county's longer window. When a name is missing, check spelling, aliases, booking date, posting lag, the current roster, and the possibility that another county made the booking. Then move to the court and written-request channels.
Saline County 48-Hour Releases
Saline County publishes a rolling 48-hour feed rather than a calendar-day report. The official roster chooser separates current inmates from those released within the last 48 hours. The released list displays a photo, name, booking number, booking and release timestamps, charges, displayed bond information, and a profile link. No guaranteed update interval is published, so a new event may lag.
The official chooser shows the two custody views and the county's accuracy warning:
The screen makes the short public window clear. It also shows why the current and released views answer different questions.
For “today” or the preceding 24 hours, compare each release timestamp with the current time in Marshall. A full three-day list cannot be rebuilt from one 48-hour view after the oldest day drops off. Request the whole start-to-end range from the Sheriff when completeness matters.
Saline County MODOC Release Search
The MODOC offender search covers active people in Missouri corrections custody or supervision. It is not a Saline County booking archive. Search by DOC ID when possible, or use names and aliases with care. Compare identity, offenses, sentencing county, status, and the exact field labels. A parole or conditional-release result describes active community supervision. The portal expressly excludes discharged offenders, so a missing person does not prove final discharge.
| Search or record field | Use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| DOC ID | Best exact identifier | Not the county booking number |
| First and last name | Find a candidate record | Aliases and common names can mislead |
| Sentencing county and offense | Confirm the correct case | One person can have several charge rows |
| Minimum release date | Calculated conditional-release date | Not an actual departure timestamp |
| Maximum release date | Maximum release or expiration field | Special values can apply |
| Completed flag | Shows sentence completion in historical data | Use Sunshine data for discharged people |
The official MODOC search form identifies the scope of the active system:
For a completed record, use MODOC's historical Sunshine dataset or request the completed flag, sentence dates, concurrent or consecutive indicator, minimum and maximum release dates, and status event.
Saline County Court Release Proof
Saline County sits in the 15th Judicial Circuit. The Circuit Clerk maintains criminal and traffic files and works with the Sheriff and Probation and Parole. Case.net can preserve public bond entries, release orders, dismissals, pleas, sentences, jail credit, probation, commitments, revocations, and satisfaction or discharge entries long after the short Sheriff display expires.
These sources prove different facts. A judge's order supplies the legal authority. The jail's release timestamp shows when county processing ended. MODOC records the later state event if a commitment follows. When the exact moment matters, do not replace the custodian's record with a docket entry. The Circuit Clerk can provide public documents that are unavailable remotely, but cannot give legal advice or disclose confidential files.
Saline County Release Record Expungement
The county court-forms page says only Supreme Court-approved or locally listed forms are accepted and links expungement material. Form CR360 is associated with a petition under section 610.140. The statute generally uses completion-based waiting periods and excludes specified offenses, but the court must apply current law to the actual arrest, plea, trial, or conviction record.
Legal Aid of Western Missouri's Warrensburg office serves Saline County. That is a documented local route when a person needs legal advice beyond the filing information a clerk may provide. Its office is at 305 N. Holden, Warrensburg, and its listed phone numbers are 660-747-7101 and 800-892-2943. Closure of a covered official record does not ensure that every old copy elsewhere has vanished.
Saline County Release Notification Channels
Missouri replaced VINELink for local-jail notifications with the state-run MOVANS portal in May 2026. Existing local-jail registrants had to register again. MOVANS searches by name, facility, age or birth date, exact booking or offender ID, or exact court case number. It can send confirmed email or SMS alerts. A “released” event means the reporting custodian recorded departure, not necessarily that no other custody follows.
MODOC's active search and District 29 contacts address state parole, probation, and conditional release. The MSHP Sex Offender Registry is a separate, narrow system for those required to register; it is not a general release list. For federal cases, the BOP locator may show “Released” and a date for a former federal prisoner. ICE ODLS covers current detainees and, according to ICE, people released from its custody within the preceding 60 days. Neither federal channel merges with Saline County jail data.
Compare Saline County Release Sources
Use the narrowest source that owns the event. Combining systems without matching identifiers can blend separate bookings, court cases, or sentences. The source, date retrieved, and exact status label belong with every conclusion.
| System | Best answer | What it cannot prove alone |
|---|---|---|
| Current county roster | Displayed county custody now | Why an absent person left |
| 48-hour released feed | Recent county departure timestamp | Community return or final court outcome |
| Case.net | Court order and disposition | Exact physical processing time |
| MODOC | Active state custody or supervision | Ordinary county bond-out |
| MOVANS | Custody event and alert | Certified release record |
| BOP or ICE | Federal or immigration custody event | State and county status |
Saline County Release Facility History
Saline County maintains an official page titled Jail & Justice Center 2023 Renovation. It provides a local facility-history marker for the Justice Center site. The project title does not establish a new jail capacity, a different release door, a change in processing time, or an effect on release records. Those details were not documented in the research and should not be inferred.
The operational release source remains the Sheriff's jail and roster system. Jail officers book entrants, take photos and fingerprints, maintain custody, handle court appearances, and process bonds. The booking photograph and release record therefore originate at the county facility even when Marshall police or another agency made the arrest.
Confirm Saline County Release Contacts
Two official local pages publish different front-office details. The Sheriff's own contact page lists weekday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and highlights 660-886-5512 as the 24-hour non-emergency number. The county government Sheriff page lists hours through 4:30 p.m., telephone 660-886-5511, and scso@salinecountysheriff.com. Preserve that difference rather than choosing one silently.

Call ahead before an in-person records visit. Communications staff may handle walk-ins and bonds around the clock, but that does not mean records staff are available overnight. Ask whether the named booking remains in county custody and whether the displayed event reflects bond, court release, sentence completion, or transfer, to the extent that information is open.
Saline County Release Facility
Saline County Detention Center is the only confirmed local custodial facility in the project map. It holds county bookings and publishes the short release trace through the Sheriff's roster. A community release may appear on the 48-hour list. A commitment or transfer must be followed through the receiving county, MODOC, federal, or immigration system. The Sheriff and Circuit Clerk provide the local records fallback.
Marshall municipal and other local law-enforcement arrests may be booked at the same county jail. The arresting-agency field can identify the originating office when populated, but it does not create a separate city release archive. Use the county booking number and custodian record throughout the search.
